THON's finale is two days away

I will be leaving for THON weekend in 42 hours.

I’ve got goosebumps just thinking about spending time with the kids, dancing and having one of the best experiences life can offer. Oh, and I’ve got some good news. You can still donate.
But I’ve got some bad news, too. 12,500 children will be diagnosed with cancer this year, and 2,300 children will lose their battle.
Together, we can make a change for those children. But how? Well, you could donate a penny, $1, $10, $100 or any other amount.
But how will your donations be used?  Donations are primarily used to offset expenses a family’s insurance will not cover.
  • $300 helps buy a wig for a child that has lost their hair
  • $600 sends a child to Camp Make-A-Dream
  • $750 for one lab experiment
  • $800 per day to run a lab searching for a cure
Those are just some basic ways your donation will make a difference in a child’s life.
I should tell you that Penn State’s THON could be on the verge of doing the improbable, the unthinkable and the unreachable. We could hit the number 10, as in $10 million in donations raised for this THON year. Last year, we raised $9.56 million for children with cancer. We were so close.
Now, you can help push us across that ever elusive milestone.
You can also do more than just donate money, too.
  • Join THON
  • Tell others about THON
  • Nominate THON for a Shorty Award on Twitter.
And best of all, you can change a child’s life with just a few mouse clicks.

  2. Chance are I've seen it once or twice on YouTube if it's on there. I've been spending a few minutes each day checking out THON weekend videos to get a feel for what it will be like.

I'm not excited or anything ...

  3. Over $10 million for this year? That's amazing. I'm truly grateful to be a part of an institution that does things like this. It's an incredible community.
